Mark Development is a privately held real estate development company with offices in Wellesley and New York City. Founded by longtime Newton resident Robert Korff, Mark Development has a proven track record of success in developing multi-use properties throughout New England and the upper mid-Atlantic region. Over the last 25 years, the firm’s principals have developed over 200 retail projects and over 900 residential units. Relevant projects include developments in the Back Bay, Fenway and Allston neighborhoods.

Robert Korff

Robert Korff is the founding principal and CEO of Mark Development. His passion for real estate, hard work and the ability to put together teams with the right blend of expertise has resulted in over 250 successful developments valued at more than a billion dollars. Robert is currently working on a number of projects in the mid-Atlantic area and throughout New England with active large scale mixed-use projects in Newton and Boston’s Kenmore Square and a smaller commercial development in East Cambridge.

Robert founded Mark Development in 1990 after serving seven years as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions for Triangle Capital, a national multi-family developer. Over the course of the last 25 years, Robert has forged many strong relationships with tenants, municipalities, lenders, investors, partners and professionals in an industry where relationships are the key to success. His hard charging, hands-on decisive leadership style sets the tempo and is fundamental to Mark Development’s efficiency to act on deals where time is of the essence.

Marc Steinberg

With Robert Korff, Marc Steinberg co-founded the New York office of Mark Development, Inc. in 1997 . Today, Marc oversees all aspects of the development process, from acquisition through final disposition, in the New York metropolitan area, including Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey and Southern Connecticut. He has also assisted numerous Mark Development projects throughout New England.

Marc previously worked with Weatherall Green & Smith, and was a licensed real estate broker who negotiated office space in Manhattan. He holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and a BS from Babson College.

Damien Chaviano

Damien Chaviano is a Principal at Mark Development, and is involved in all aspects of the development process of the company’s mixed-use projects. Damien previously worked at Samuels & Associates, where he was on the development team responsible for building over 900 residential units and 500,000 square feet of commercial space in the Fenway and Allston neighborhoods.

Damien holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from MIT and an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College. He currently serves as the co-chair of the ULI Boston Market Council.

David Roache

David Roache is responsible for the management of Mark Development’s development projects in the Greater Boston area. David provides extensive expertise in the permitting, design and construction of complex urban mixed-use developments.

Prior to joining Mark Development, David was at VHB where he managed the civil design and permitting of several notable Boston projects such as the Van Ness and Ink Block. David is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, he holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University.

Leslie Kivitz

Leslie Kivitz is General Counsel for Mark Development, Inc. responsible for legal representation in connection with all aspects of real estate development including acquisition, financing, leasing and sale transactions. Prior to joining MI, Leslie was a principal at Fellman Law Group, P.C. where she represented Mark Development as outside counsel for the past twenty years. Leslie received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her undergraduate degree from Brown University.

Robert P. Rivet, CPA

Rob joined Mark Development in September 2015. Rob is responsible for all aspects of Mark’s accounting, federal and state tax compliance, asset management, and the coordination of key financial considerations across the company. Before joining Mark Development, Rob was in private practice operating his accounting firm Rivet CPA, LLC providing accounting and tax services for several family-owned and operated businesses including Mark Development since 2003.

Rob graduated from Hartwick College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. In addition, he completed a curriculum in accounting qualifying him to sit for the CPA exam which he successfully passed the first time. Rob has been a CPA in the states of Massachusetts and New York since 1989.

Daniel Korff

Following in his father’s footsteps, Daniel became enamored by the excitement of the business at an early age. Today, as Mark Development’s financial analyst, he brings hard work and passion to the underwriting of potential acquisitions and the management of the company’s portfolio. His analyses of historic portfolio and property results in comparison to industry benchmarks are vital tools in evaluating performance. Daniel also analyzes all leases, capital projects, or other investment decisions impacting asset value, and assists in the reviews of the valuation models for select investments. In addition, he handles research and evaluation work, including tenant business and credit, acquisitions and dispositions, and more.

Daniel holds a BS from Lehigh University with a focus in real estate. Prior to Mark Development, he worked on JLL’s Boston Investment Sales team as an analyst primarily focused on the retail sector.

Sasha Tsaryuk

At a young age, Sasha moved to the US with her family from Kiev, Ukraine. The first in her family to go to college here, Sasha studied business management at Bentley University and never took her opportunity for granted. Fueled by her passion for business, she graduated early and immediately begin applying her skills in the fast paced and competitive industry of brand marketing. Before joining Mark Development, Sasha effectively managed and grew high volume client partnerships by establishing herself as an expert resource in brand strategy and implementation.
